The album arrives four years after Mad Love, during which time JoJo parted ways with Atlantic Records and worked to take control of her career, launching Clover Music and releasing re-recorded versions of her first two albums. Here, working with producers Doc McKinney, Dylan Wiggins, Lido, and others, JoJo frames her warm vocals in hypnotic downtempo … Voir plus Gigaton Pearl Jam Urgency has been Pearl Jam’s calling card since their inception, which is why it was a jolt to hear the band sound so settled on 2013’s Lightning Bolt. Maybe it’s the times, maybe it’s the choice to switch producers — the group swapped their longtime collaborator Brendan O’Brien for Josh Evans, who co-produced the album with the band — but Gigaton hits with the strength of a full-force gale. Weather is a galvanizing concern on Gigaton, with Pearl Jam structuring their 11th album around the looming climate change crisis. There’s little subtlety in this … Voir plus The Infamous Mobb Deep One of the cornerstones of the New York hardcore movement, The Infamous is Mobb Deep’s masterpiece, a relentlessly bleak song cycle that’s been hailed by hardcore rap fans as one of the most realistic gangsta albums ever recorded. Given Mobb Deep’s youthful age and art-school background, it’s highly unlikely that The Infamous is drawn strictly from real-life experience, yet it’s utterly convincing, because it has all the foreboding atmosphere and thematic sweep of an epic crime drama. That’s partly because of the cinematic vision behind the duo’s detailed narratives, but it’… Voir plus Albums En Vedette Back In Black Ac/dc Inconnu 10 Titres 41:59 3.0 Marc Anthony Inconnu 10 Titres 41:44 Van Weezer Weezer Inconnu 10 Titres 31:05 That’s Christmas To Me (Deluxe Edition) Pentatonix Inconnu 16 Titres 48:41 The Stories We Tell Ourselves Nothing More Inconnu 18 Titres 58:43 Songs from the Arc of Life Yo-yo Ma, Kathryn Stott Inconnu 19 Titres 01:07:45 The River Bruce Springsteen Inconnu 20 Titres 01:23:34 Avis Des Clients Best Songs: Rollin’ On, Backwoods Gold, Lonely Train, Rain Wizard, Hell & High Water, Tired Of The Rain, Shapes Of Things Worst Songs: none Kyle B It takes multiple plays, but listen and absorb. A stunning album. Stand outs for me are: Darkness, Growing Up, Sky Blue and Signal To Noise. David Eardley One of those records where the slight crackling of my old ALBUM only seems to add to the mood. Music like a warm blanket that wraps around you. Daniel Spreier This is a masterpiece of songwriting and recording. An LP that may be the least immediate of all of Kevin Parker’s, but is his first classic. Jess Fry This album has four of the best Dylan covers ever, they are all amazing and revelatory. Unfortunately the rest of the album pales by comparison. Charles Herold The “All Stars” producer Rick Rubin never disappoints, this is a record with big songs and great sound.Probably the best band of 21st Century. Manuel Costas Fernández Under rated and much over looked. The sincerity in Dylan’s voice on many of these tunes makes him seem much older than he actually is. Brilliant. Hendrix Lockhart This is a beautiful album, and one of my favorite jazz records. It has lyrical moments but for the most part is a solid, Blakey-style hard bop. James Scrapple Lil baby is the best (big name) rapper out. Every song here is good-great. The deluxe version adds we paid and the bigger picture, 2 huge songs. Andrew LASTNAME This is a great example of Bill Evans distinctive sound. Most of it is fairly ambient, at it’s best akin to Classical works by Debussy or Satie. Hendrix Lockhart Woefully underrated, “Blue and Gray” remains an musically ambitious concept album. Young and Cotton’s songs perfectly compliment each other. Wayne Klein The “All Stars” producer Rick Rubin never disappoints, this is a record with big songs and great sound.Probably the best band of 21st Century. Manuel Costas Fernández Arguably the greatest live Jazz album of all time, and it answers the age old question: “What does Miles’s rhythm section do on their day off?” Ron Kopald This is without doubt one of the best albums of the year. The songs and the arrangements are so beautiful it makes me cry. What more can I say? alasdair lambie A mesmerizing piece of art that strengthens the foundations of a musical movement at the time.
