Dallas'
Funky Knuckles are a six-member jazz outfit who make a soulful, genre-bending brand of electric fusion. Formed around 2010,
Funky Knuckles initially began as a trio featuring keyboardist/vocalist Caleb Sean McCampbell, bassist
Wes Stephenson, and drummer
Cedric Moore. However, it was while holding down their weekly residency at Dallas' Tini Bar that they began adding members, including guitarist
Phill Aelony, saxophonist Ben Bohorquez, trumpeter Evan Weiss, and percussionist
Frank Moka. They released their debut album, As of Lately, on
Snarky Puppy bassist
Michael League's GroundUp label in 2012. Two years later,
Funky Knuckles followed up with Meta-Musica, which broke through, landing on top of the iTunes jazz charts. ~ Matt Collar
