A second sequel to the excellent copyright clearinghouse
1967: Sunshine Tomorrow, the digital compilation
1967: LIVE Sunshine excavates all existing live
Beach Boys recordings from 1967 that haven't previously seen the light of day. This means, like
1967: Sunshine Tomorrow 2 - The Studio Sessions, that this is a collection of outtakes of outtakes, which means they're of marginal interest to those who don't call themselves
Beach Boys devotees. As these are primarily completed live recordings -- the exceptions are rougher rehearsals -- this is an easier listen than its cousin, but it's also hard to ignore that the reason for its existence is for the label to (rightly) claim the rights to all these recordings. On their own merits, they're a little sleepy and meandering, while the audio is often muddy, which means this is primarily for fans who would've happily spent hundreds of dollars on a 100-track collection of live rarities during the height of CD bootlegs. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
