Vocalist Patti Lewis drifts prettily through a set of
Celine Dion favorites on this tasteful tribute to the French Canadian superstar. Patti is not the singer
Celine is, and she doesn't have access to top-notch producers. But in place of million-dollar helming help or technically efficient range, Lewis relies on simply effective piano arrangements and a straightforward vocal presence. Things get a bit busy on "Declaration of Love" and "Dreaming of You," when the prominent drum machines and synth instrumentation start to make the tribute sound like karaoke. But Lewis turns in strong versions of "My Heart Will Go On," "Power of Love," and especially "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," making
Tribute to Celine Dion a solid pick-up for completist fans or the casual adult contemporary listener. ~ Johnny Loftus
