Akte is the greek goddess of pleasure, rest and nourishment. She is the muse and inspiration of the music you are about to enjoy, a scent of the mediterranean sea enriched by other flavours. An interior path that crosses different places: the Middle-East, Armenia and Macedonia cutting across continents to reach the Iberian peninsula, diving in to the deep waters of our souls and shaping our story of musicians.
The sound of our time breaks down the borders and grows through diversity, better than any man can do. It’s thrilling to observe how cultures and musical instruments with their characteristic colours and timbres, coming from different corners of the earth, mix together easily and spontaneously and create, together, new shades and new hues. Music is the pleasure of sharing, rest for the mind and nourishment for the soul.
Aktè ensemble is a project that brings together four world-class musicians. From jazz to cultured music and Middle-Eastern influences these musicians each bring their unique contribution to the project. The idea that inspires this one-of-a-kind formation comes to life in the warm embrace of the Mediterranean, where the number and the variety of musical styles and expressions are beyond comparison with the rest of the world. The protagonists of this musical journey swing between written notes and pentagrams, and frequent moments of improvisation, always giving priority to interaction and the uniqueness of every single concert. The research done by the ensemble does not follow philological or historical research, but rather lives a life of its own, going on through the process of interaction and the originality of every musical arrangement; through the experience of sharing refined performances; and through the personal paths of the members.
