The "Rock 'n' Roll" volume of K-Tel's
Back to the '60s series, like all the other volumes, is based on inferior re-recordings of hits that were released during the decade in question. As with the other volumes in the series, it's a cheap way to obtain a lot of music, but you're going to get what you pay for. Some of the tracks on this disc include
American Breed's "Bend Me, Shape Me,"
the Beau Brummels' "Just a Little,"
Gary Lewis & the Playboys' "This Diamond Ring," and
the Grass Roots' "Let's Live for Today." Only
the Count Five's "Psychotic Reaction" and
the Turtles' "It Ain't Me Babe" are originals. ~ Andy Kellman
