Bending the Dark is the third album from English folk collective
The Imagined Village. Originally brought together by Simon Emmerson (
Afro Celt Sound System), the aim was to combine musicians from various ethnic backgrounds, celebrating modern multiculturalism in the UK. The album sees the outfit move away from their re-workings of folk-legend
Martin Carthy’s song book which had appeared on previous albums, and deliver an album of original and traditional folk material.
