Released on the occasion of his 75th birthday, this double-disc retrospective of Austrian singer and songwriter Udo Jürgens is somewhat controversial. Many of the hits are available in more focused versions elsewhere, as are some rarities. The producer's decision to include English-language demos he penned for the likes of Shirley Bassey, Sammy Davis, Jr., Bobby Darin, and others does offer a view of the great writer's diversity, but takes away from a deeper exploration of his own vast catalog.
