The bottom line is this:
All Out Attack is not the best of working-class punk warriors Blitz. Instead, it's a slapdash 28-cut set of live tracks and demos taken from when the band was past its prime. Blitz were all done pretty much after their debut album, Voice of a Generation. Their debut EP and their first LP were prime Oi! -- ragged, nasty, riddled with sped-up versions of football chants and louder than God. This CD comp issued by the usually erudite Castle is dodgy not only in terms of material (if you are a Blitz collector, rabid latter-day fan, or nostalgia freak you may want everything), but in sound as well. Skip this and pick up 1994's Blitz Hits on Cleopatra instead. It contains all the classic studio recordings and the finished version of the unreleased single "4Q." ~ Thom Jurek
