Since at least 2018’s 6ixupsidedown compilation, Canada’s 6ixbuzz Entertainment has done its best to give the GTA’s most promising talents a platform to be heard. Canada’s Most Wanted, the follow-up to the label’s 2019 NorthernSound project, is no different in that regard, its lineup boasting some 37 artists, all of whom the label has chosen as the best the country has to offer. Across Canada’s Most Wanted, the MCs deemed as such use their time on wax to cover an abundance of topics, including but not limited to street life (Pengz’s “Money & Violence”), fashion (BiigSlime and Thorobread’s “Amiris”), love (Bvlly and Mack Dizzle’s “Knock You Down”), haters (K Money and Casper TNG’s “Plotting on Me”), self-preservation (Fleedoe’s “Draco”), the material things they covet (KILLY and Houdini’s “VV’s”), and who they can appear to be to one another (Casper TNG and Robin Banks’ “Dancing With the Devil”). The compilation covers so much ground, in fact, that listeners would be hard-pressed to tease out any single thread that’s common through the whole of the artists involved. The Canadian people aren’t a monolith, and neither are their MCs.
