Classic summarizes Level 42's Polydor output, which covers the band's self-titled 1981 debut through 1988's Staring at the Sun. After a quick skim of the track list, it seems like a decent overview of those years, with major chart hits like "Something About You" and "Running in the Family" present. A closer look reveals a number of unfortunate omissions: "Love Meeting Love," "Starchild," and the Top Ten U.K. hits "The Sun Goes Down (Living It Up)" and "Lessons in Love," for whatever reason, are left off. For better anthologies released around the same time, seek the more thoughtful double-disc sets Gold or Lessons in Love: The Collection.
