Born on Christmas Day 1990 in Fort St. James, British Columbia, Canada (a former fur-trading post with a population of around 5,000),
Cody Karey showed a strong, striking singing voice early and his parents enrolled him in classical voice lessons when he was four years old. In time,
Karey's voice grew into a wonderful and clear tenor, and when producer
David Foster discovered him in 2006, well, he was on his way. This self-titled debut album, produced by
Walter Afanasieff and executive produced by
Foster, finds
Karey's mix of classical, pop, and folk putting him on a par with
Josh Groban and
Michael Bublé, both of whom were also mentored by
Foster. ~ Steve Leggett
