The first collection of Jody Miller's work since Renaissance's 2000 set Anthology, Real Gone's 2012 The Complete Epic Hits bests that compilation by a single song -- running 25 songs to Anthology's 24, a full 18 of those shared -- and adding liner notes from Miller herself. As this focuses on Miller's work for Epic, her earliest singles -- including "Queen of the House," the career-making answer record to Roger Miller's "King of the Road" -- are absent, enough to make The Complete Epic Hits fall short as a full-career retrospective, but as a deep look at Miller's hitmaking peak, this is excellent.
