Not for the faint of heart, delicate of eardrum, or weak of spirit, Panoply takes no prisoners. This is art-noise-punk that simultaneously channels early-Pere Ubu, Beefheart, US Maple and heaven knows what else into a bracing cocktail that'll make you stand on your feet while it's knocking you on your butt at the same time.

Sharp guitars, sharp rhythms, and jarring changes of mood all mark the Panoply sound. Top it off with Darin Glenn's delightfully delirious caterwauling and you'd swear you were listening to a tape of Tom Verlane's "unpleasant" visit to the proctologist. To be even more difficult, Panoply throw in some catchy pop smack dab in the middle of the disc. Difficult? Sure. But then most rewarding things are.
