Before they became
the Viceroys, Jamaican singers Wesley Tinglin, Daniel Bernard, and Bunny Gayle were known as
the Inturns, and sometimes the Interns. They cut the hit roots reggae single "Yah Ho" with producer Clement "Coxsone" Dodd, the
Sly & Robbie-produced "Heart Made of Stone," and this
Phil Pratt-produced full-length LP, which redoes "Yah Ho" as "Jah Ho." Also check the opening one-two punch of "Send Us" and the title cut, which are both fine examples of rocksteady music evolving into roots reggae. The Pressure Sounds label's reissue from 2015 adds two bonus 12" mixes helmed by
Pratt. ~ David Jeffries
