Revered by the majority of their fans as
F.Y.P. at its most punkest,
Dance My Dunce is feisty and raw, a record that sounds like it was recorded on somebody's broken Walkman. Singer/songwriter
Todd Congelliere's high-pitched squeal of a voice has never sounded more manic, like a Muppet being strangled. Classics like "Vacation Bible School" and their cover of the Toy Dolls' "My Girlfriend's Dad's a Vicar" feature some infectious singalong-type hooks, while "It's Not My Fault You Like Air Supply," a perfect punk masterpiece about a junkie girlfriend, and "Kids That Play Dead," an ode to messed-up parents, are surprisingly mature riot-stokers for these young and insane, geek-punk geniuses. One couldn't find a more definitive example of genuine, '90s punk rock at its absolute fiery best.
