Almost 42 years and 17 studio albums into their career, schlager group Die Amigos offer an extensive retrospective on the album Das Beste: 40 Hits. The two-CD compilation presents classics such as "Dann Kam ein Engel," "Mein Opa," "Komm Tanz Mit Mir," and "Ich Geh für Dich Durchs Feuer" as well as newer songs, including "Du Bist der Helle Wahnsinn," "Das Weisse Schiff Verlässt den Hafen," and "Ein Tag im Paradies." The package also features the duets "Träume Sind zum Greifen Nah" (with the Alpentrio Tirol) and "Es Lebe die Freundschaft" (with Die Ladiner). Apart from the 40 previously released songs, there are three bonus songs: "Mein Bester Freund," sung by bandmember Bernd Ulrich's grandson Maurizio; "40 Jahre Amigos," sung by Bernd Ulrich's daughter Daniela Alfinito and Stefan Micha; and "Wenn Zwei Brüder Durchs Feuer Gehen," a tribute to Die Amigos by the Alpentrio Tirol.
