Heinz Rudolf Kunze's 21st studio album, released 30 years after his debut
Reine Nervensache, continues the relaxed pop of his last two albums. While some of the songs offer radio-friendly balladry bordering on schlager pop territory, tracks like "Ich Glaub Du Liebst Mich" are reminiscent of
Westernhagen's Deutschrock, and
Kunze's trademark sarcasm is still noticeable on songs like "Ich Liebe Dich" or "Eisfrei."
Gunst der Stunde reached number eight on the German charts;
Kunze's highest chart entry since 1991's Brille (Number four). ~ Christian Genzel
