Irregular album by the great singer Emílio Santiago showing his indecision in the choice between his wonderful samba renditions and a more commercial/romantic repertoire. Authentic samba renditions are present in the beautiful "Sentimentos," "Faz de Conta," "No Compasso Do Criador," and in the
Martinho da Vila's medley with "Tá Delícia, Tá gostoso" and "Mulheres," with "Blue Gardenia" presenting an intense bossa rendition. There is axé music in "Beija-flor," pop in
Lulu Santos' "Assim Caminha A Gumanidade," Chico César's "À Primeira Vista" soul ballad in the classic "Brigas" (Jair Amorim/
Evaldo Gouveia), diluted samba in
Paulo Diniz's hit "Um Chope Pra Distrair," doleful canção in "Viagem," and in a selection of romantic songs that closes the album. ~ Alvaro Neder
