After the huge success of
Unio Mistica in Brazil and Europe (mainly),
Corciolli continued mixing several themes from different eras.
Exotique follows this path but does not have the meditative sounds, one of the strongest characteristics of his initial works. Besides the Brazilian tunes, he also used several rhythms and feelings (e.g., "Nave D'Amore" evokes romance with a nice solo sax). Exploring new harmonic structures and showing his ability as a composer, he succeeded in transmitting both sensibility and his technical background at the same time. This CD has also a lot of electronic sounds (more than a hundred timbres were used) and convey a sense of tranquility and joy. Together with his keyboards and percussion, he added sax, female vocals, and choir and blended analogical and digital technology in the mixing process. The last track, "Joannes' Dream," pays homage to Pope John Paul II.
Exotique invites you to feel the dance and rhythm movements. This is a work directed to people with sensibility. ~ Cesar Lanzarini
