Ismael Miranda's second independently produced album was made to cash in on the Puerto Rican Christmas season. Also, it is the album that marked a pause in
Miranda's salsa career (and brief retirement) to concentrate on strictly Puerto Rican folklore.
Ismael Miranda's vocal skills brilliantly shine throughout in tunes like "Mi Trullita," "Cantaleta Navideña," "Jesús de Piñones," "Por la Ventanita," "Irineo," "Un Asalto en la Guancha," and "Los Niños de Mi País" (with special guest Luis Daniel Colón, a child décima singer).
Louis García's expert arranging and musical direction make the best of this handsome production. Tite Curet Alonso's great lyrics are the truest asset, indeed. ~ José A. Estévez, Jr.
