The second studio album from Dominique Michalon, but the first to be recorded under the alias
Miss Dominique following her late-'90s incarnation Beth Sheba,
Femme Battante is a retro-soul-influenced collection of songs produced by
Philippe Swan. Released in 2006, the same year she finished runner-up in the fourth series of Nouvelle Star, its 12 tracks include covers of '60s and '70s classics (
James Brown's "It's a Man's Man's Man's World," Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"), and several self-penned compositions, including the singles "Puisque Tu Me Vois d'En Haut" and "Doudou." ~ Jon O'Brien
