A latecomer to the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Rogue Male sounds as though descended from Motörhead, with rambunctious choruses, simple three-chord hooks, and raw, throaty vocals. Musically, FIRST VISIT emulates the best of early 1980s metal–the driving pulse of Judas Priest, the booming Rainbow-esque rhythms that border on Power Metal, and the flippant, pseudo-suggestive lyrics, a la Venom. The album is an 11-track portable party, alcohol optional.
