This budget album has five selections from two separate jam sessions in 1947.
Stan Getz is only on three of the numbers, teamed up with altoist
Willie Smith, trumpeter
Charlie Shavers and vibraphonist
Red Norvo for "How High the Moon," "I Got Rhythm" and "Body and Soul." The other two selections ("Groovin' High" and "Hot House") are more bop-oriented and feature tenor-saxophonist
Wardell Gray, trumpeter Howard McGhee and altoist
Sonny Criss. The music is loose but has some exciting moments, even if the jumbled personnel listing makes it difficult to know who is on which selection.
