Endwell offer up the standard metalcore fare on their Victory debut, Homeland Insecurity. The Queens-based quintet is a competent team, thrashing its way through 12 songs that have throat-destroying growls here, melodic singing there, heavy breakdowns from over yonder, and a sufficient amount of gang vocals dispersed throughout. The band serves up a heartbroken dose of rage-lite for guys who'd rather scream out their angst than weep silently in a corner, songs boasting lyrics like "I'm just a bruised and broken heart, but the memories you left are of a girl who's lost and broken" ("Single and Loving It") and the emo-rific "Just pull the plug and end what you've begun/This love is hell, my heart is dead" ("Boy Meets World War III"). Although the songs wear thin pretty quickly, Homeland Insecurity is great for that first week of dealing with getting dumped by one's sweetheart. ~ Corey Apar
