Guitarist
Gerry Beaudoin makes a strong impression with this CD of easygoing swing with a few twists added. No slouch as a soloist, he also is happy to share the solo spotlight. The title track is a delightful foot-tapping original blues, with the leader trading licks with veteran guitarist
Bucky Pizzarelli and clarinetist
Billy Novick. Check out the very upbeat version of "St. Thomas," featuring matchless mandolin master
David Grisman and sensitive percussion by Grover Mooney. Grisman nearly steals the show on "All Blues," but
Beaudoin gets in some choice licks, too. Also worth hearing is the unusual version of "Don't Get Around Much Anymore." ~ Ken Dryden
