Kidz Bop, Vol. 24 gathers versions of some of 2013's biggest singles as performed by
Kids for Kids, and once again, the collection offers a wide-ranging mix of songs that didn't need to be made "kid-friendly" (
the Lumineers' "Ho Hey"), songs that aren't blatantly inappropriate but still sound a bit odd when sung by children (
Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors,"
P!nk's "Just Give Me a Reason"), and songs that would earn a quarter in the swear jar in their original versions (
Icona Pop's "I Love It,"
Macklemore's "Thrift Shop"). As awkward as the series' juxtaposition of kids' voices and adult songs can be,
Kidz Bop, Vol. 24 still provides singalong versions of these smash hits for the entire family. ~ Heather Phares
