Excellent small combo repertory project that pays tribute to undervalued arranger/composer Tadd Dameron. Unfortunately, the group made only one album for a tiny independent label. Personnel included trombonist Slide Hampton, saxophonist Jimmy Heath, pianist Kenny Barron, bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Art Taylor. Their LP has since been reissued on CD. ~ Ron Wynn
