Marky Ramone's debut album with the Intruders picked up right where
the Ramones left off -- it finds an old punk slowly and unwittingly turning toward heavy metal. While the rhythms are slightly harder and faster than latter-day Ramones records, it certainly is lacking in the effortless, dumb hooks that made his former band so infectious. Instead,
Marky Ramone & the Intruders relies on attitude and while it may be invigorating in spots, it's clear that Marky is now past his prime. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
