With their 2005 single "Big City Life," Marlon Roudette and his band Mattafix enjoyed a number one hit in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and New Zealand. After only two albums, however, Mattafix broke up, and in 2011 Roudette presented his first solo album with Matter Fixed -- whose title already shows that he isn't too far removed from his former band's pop-oriented mixture of reggae and trip-hop. The first single, "New Age," was another number one hit in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, thanks to being featured on the soundtrack of Matthias Schweighöfer's hit romantic comedy What a Man. Throughout the album, Roudette takes elements from dubstep ("Storyline"), blues ("Closer"), reggae ("Brotherhood of the Broken"), and rap ("Riding Home"), and turns the results into radio-friendly summer pop.
