A nice sampling of
Champion Jack's King and Savoy singles, this also includes
Jack's work behind
Little Willie John on tracks like "All Around the World" and "Don't Leave Me My Dear." The Muddy tracks are more problematic: They're a complete hodgepodge of early Chess tracks (some dubbed from scratchy, old 78s), a ringer from the Fathers and Sons album, and Sonny Boy Willamson's Checker recording of "Don't Start Me to Talkin'," which features Muddy and his band backing up the harp wizard. Some great blues, but not too sensibly ordered -- or very well dubbed, either.
