Considerably less screwed up than their debut, Zulutronic's shift into long-form gear brings an attendant focus, primarily on production and dense, economical rhythms, making Mission Zulu One significantly more pleasing to listen to than the group's debut EP. The humor's still there, of course, what with the blaxploitation cut-ups, the big, dumb, rubbery basslines, and voice synthesizers announcing "Evil zombies in the house!" Beatswise, the tempo is focused on the mid, with most of the tracks on the sparsely syncopated electro tip.
