Some nice traditional Hawaiian music from the grandson of the great Raymond Kane. Kamakele Bulla Ka'iliwai isn't necessarily one of the biggest names out there, but with his lineage, training, and co-performers, it's quite a nice album. There's not really anything groundbreaking to be heard, but it's a very pleasant affair nonetheless. The bulk is vocal-based work, but there are a couple stabs at steel and slack key portions here and there which come out well. As with most of the newer performers on the Hawaiian music scene, it's recommended to dig up some of the classic stuff first (the Pahinui Brothers Band, Raymond Kane, Sonny Chillingworth, Ledward Kaapana, etc), but for basic listening pleasure, this one won't disappoint either.
