Featuring three ex-members of the Teenbeat group
the Ropers,
Nectar is a collection of catchy power pop with a nice use of strings. The music is upbeat and sunny for the most part, and shows an occasional tendency to dissolve into drone, but the spaceyness of
the Ropers isn't really present. One fault of the album is that best track, "Sunshine," is first. The band tries to achieve that peak with the assorted hooks and fine melodies that pervade the record, but are never quite able to hit that high again. Quite a pity, really.
