It may have taken the
Blac Monks a while to deliver their second record,
No Mercy, but the wait was worth it. A more focused record than its predecessor,
Secrets of the Hidden Temple,
No Mercy is filled with claustrophobic productions that cannot conceal the deeply funky and inventive grooves. The album may run a little long, but there are more original sounds here than the average hardcore rap album from 1998, which makes it worth picking up by any serious hip-hop listener. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
