This follow-up to
More Power to Ya promises big but does not deliver. The songs are somewhat forced. "Lift Him Up" is basically "Stand Up" from
More Power to Ya, only clunkier and with different words. And, as one rock journalist once pointed out, on "Not By Sight" songsmith
Bob Hartman rhymes "justification" with "tribulations." Some good points do exist. "Grave Robber" is a great song with an infectious melody, and the title track is a somber, almost haunting tune. "Godpleaser" and "Bema Seat" come as close to
More Power to Ya as anything else in terms of energy, but the rest of the album is more muddled. Keyboardist
John Slick played a major role in the production of this album, and for whatever reason it is his swan song, as he was replaced by
John Lawry of the English Band. ~ Mark W.B. Allender
