A spectacular label showcase, and a taster for what Om Records has planned for their extravaganza at the 2008 Winter Music Conference. If this set is anything to go by, the night should he unforgettable, as Om continues their quest to bring music lovers the best the house scene has to offer. Hitmaker
Samantha James is heavily featured within this 14-track set, with a storming remix of her smash "Breathe You In" by
Eric Kupper kicking off the album. Groundbreaking remixer/producer
Colette gets a down and dirty remix of her track "If" by Santiago & Bushido, top DJ
Fred Everything's versatility is spot-lighted across two very different numbers, while the equally hot
Chuck Love appears with the sizzling "Moonlight [Miami Version]."
Home & Garden are one of Om's recent signings, and are paired with the legendary
Chez Damier for "In and Out," which is given an edgy remix here by
JT Donaldson and a funky, synth remodel by J Tilla and
Daz-I-Kue. The latter is another new signing, as are
Cates & DpL, who work their magic on
Samantha James' "Angel Love."
Florian Kruse may be a recent edition to the Om stable, but he's already an established name in Germany, and his hard house styling is spotlit on "In My Scope." His compatriot, DJ/producer/remixer Chubby Dubz struts his stuff on the trance-y "Drifting Away." This diversity of styles is a label trademark, with the set encompassing the many moods and shades of house, which reaches an exhilarating apex with
Joshua's clattering "Beat Dub" remix of "Deep Surprise." The energy is allowed to ebb and flow naturally throughout the set, excitement builds and dissipates as the styles shift and the moods change. The fact that the bulk of the set features exclusive tracks and remixes is just the icing on this spectacular cake.
