British breakcore DJ Shitmat hearkens back to the classic sounds of the 1990s early rave scene on 2009’s ONE FOOT IN THE RAVE. While Shitmat’s usual penchant for aggressive onslaughts of jungle and drum ‘n’ bass can still be heard in the mix, the emphasis here is on thumping, infectious beats that conjure the glory days of rave. Shimat used vintage samplers and old cassettes of pirate radio shows in putting together ONE FOOT IN THE RAVE, making sure that his tribute is authentic right down to the details.
