Similar to their 1990 EP Flibbiddydibbiddydob,
Potatoes & Melons isn't an official full-length from
Snuff, but rather mostly a collection of obscure cover songs and goofing around in the studio. Of course, a lot of these songs, such as "Magic Moments" and "Shadows of Love," are done in the
Snuff style of aggressive, harmonized pop-punk, but there's even a touch of calypso and ska spread out on their renditions of "Soul Limbo" and "Rivers of Babylon." However, the highlight of this album is
Snuff doing the Wat Tyler parody song "It Must Be Boring Being Snuff," which continues to prove that even though they've been in the business for over a decade now, they can still have a good laugh at their own expense. ~ Mike DaRonco
