Dettinger's second 12",
Puma, came just a month after his first album. These three untitled tracks are just a little more beat-oriented than the seven on
Intershop, but they are just as bathed in psychedelic nuances, and certainly not made with the dancefloor in mind. The lone A-side track is thick in suspense that is never resolved, working with the same pattern for the duration of its ten minutes. The first B-side track would be more suitable for dancing if it weren't for circular glitch loops that divert the attention. The third and final track, only three minutes in length, is more complex and nearly headache-inducing, with several elements piled on top of one another. Mostly due to the A-side, this release seals
Dettinger's status as one of Kompakt's most talented and valuable artists.
