The third full-length (for those unfamiliar with hardcore protocol, that means "more than 25 minutes long") album from this Minnesota-based outfit finds them continuing to get faster, harder, and louder. Youth crew scenesters know what to expect, and they won't be disappointed: no wimpy melodies or emo whining, just lots of hurricane guitars, superhumanly tight drumming, and indecipherable screaming. Those who examine the lyric sheet are probably going to wonder what it is that vocalist Andy is so upset about, since everything he rails against is defined very vaguely. In "Invasion of the Assholes," he's mad about "this situation"; in "All or Nothing" it's "this place"; in "Your Excuses Are as Lame as You Are" he's just upset about "this," as in "Don't blame me for any of this" and "You can try to pin this on me but I don't give a sh*t." At times he seems to be talking about religion ("I've seen the light/And I've crawled back in the hole") and at others he's clearly upset about patriotism ("Don't question the answers, just fly the flag"). But he's clearly not too impressed with himself, either, as the numerous songs bemoaning his own (vaguely described) screwups attest. The final product may appeal mostly to similarly inclined teenage boys, but then, that's the target audience. ~ Rick Anderson
