Rat in a Maze mini-album EP arrived in 1982, with seven songs of complex and angry west coast punk. Production work was handled by
Dead Kennedys guitarist
East Bay Ray, and the group's punk sound relied on quick, blasting drums, Darby Crash-like vocals from singer Creetin K-os, and occasional divergences from the punk blueprint, as on the
Pop Group/ P.I.L.-esque post-punk track "I Love You." ~ Fred Thomas
