After a few false starts and a lengthy hiatus, post-grunge act
Future Leaders of the World deliver their long-awaited second album,
Reveal. Led by singer/songwriter
Phil Tayler (
Machina), this album has roots dating back to 2008 when he began recording songs for an intended solo acoustic EP. As the project grew,
Tayler relocated to New Orleans, where he assembled the updated lineup that eventually released 2009's three-song Delirium EP, which was intended to precede
Reveal. It would take another six years for the album to see the light of day via Chicago's Pavement Entertainment label. Since many of the songs began as part of an acoustic project,
Reveal feels like more of a straightforward rock record, boasting a '90s-influenced grunge style over the rap-rock renderings of their 2004 debut.
