Ridmik is
Luke Vibert's first birth-name album in five years -- his first since We Hear You, released on
Planet Mu. Now aligned with the Hypercolour label, he's once again armed with the TB-303 bassline synthesizer, and he regularly deploys its acid frequencies, as tipped off with titles like "Acid Jacker" and "Double Dipped Acid." While everything is well made, it's better suited for the background than active listening.
Vibert could probably crank out similar albums on an annual basis. This one is not among the necessary releases in his deep catalog. ~ Andy Kellman
