Buffalo Bop has been releasing obscure rockabilly compilations for what seems like forever, and Rockin' Orbit is a fine thematic entry in the series. It's all basic variations on the tried and true rockabilly blueprint, but given that these were all recorded in the '50s, the dawn of the "Space Age", you also get lots of countdowns (to lift-off, presumably), lots of outer space sound effects, and at times, enough reverb to drown a cat. Sometimes, the connection to outer space is a bit of a stretch, but the imagined view of the future from the '50s is always good for some campy fun. This is not the greatest rockabilly you're likely to find, but if that's a sound you love, this is a fun compilation.
