Sundazed's Rockin' with the Knickerbockers is a decent collection of the band's biggest singles, B-sides, and album tracks. Kicking off with the fantastic
Beatles pastiche "Lies," the compilation also includes "One Track Mind," "Just One Girl," and the love-as-drugs nod to garage-psych "High on Love." Unlike the similar-quality Lies: The Very Best of the Knickerbockers, this collection has less of the covers that filled out
the Knickerbockers' albums and reflected their bar band origins. "They Ran for Their Lives" and "Rumors, Gossip, Words Untrue" are nearly as good as
the Knickerbockers' top-shelf material, while "She Said Goodbye"'s expansive, jangly guitars and "Stick with Me"'s exotic oboes show the band trying to bridge the gap between frat rock and psychedelia. 20 Classic Tracks! might still be the best single-disc
Knickerbockers retrospective, but Rockin' with the Knickerbockers is still pretty enjoyable and should serve the purposes of most of the group's fans. ~ Heather Phares
