R&B boy band B2K always seemed market-savvy, so it's only natural that they should get into the Christmas game with SANTA HOOKED ME UP, an album of holiday tunes done up in hip-hop/R&B style. Though the young quartet is best known for a romantic sound capable of melting hearts at a thousand paces, they open with a rare non-love song, the title track, which celebrates the swag bestowed by old St. Nick. In fact, since they spend most of this disc indulging in hip-hopped up versions of classic Christmas tunes such as "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," they hardly even get a chance to get slinky and sensual. A notable exception is "Sexy Boy Christmas," which will undoubtedly be the recipient of much repeat play by the band's many female fans.
