Respect to
Webbie for just updating the number and not changing the titles on his albums, because the whiny-voiced, hyper-confrontational rapper started that way, and now stays that way, on the utterly snide
Savage Live V. If it wasn't for the percolating electro beat of "Problems," the album highlight and
Boosie Badazz feature, the track could be passed off as 2005 and the first
Savage Life, while titles like "F*k Somthin" and "Strip Pole" prove the MC still prefers Hustler over Playboy. Infectious crunk is hard to find in the era of
Future and
Desiigner, so don't think of
Webbie as stagnant, just true to the lure of the club beat, the money, and the lost art of keeping it trill. ~ David Jeffries
