Don Slepian is one of the longtime masters of digital space music. He recorded
Sea of Bliss in 1980 while he was artist in residence at Bell Labs. He used the Alles Digital Synthesizer. This album was a staple on Music From the Hearts of Space, Stephen Hill's syndicated radio program on NPR.
Slepian had it remastered for the 2000 reissue. It has withstood the test of time. Despite major advances in technology and technique, this CD has a fresh sound that allows it to stand shoulder to shoulder with new-millennium digitalia. This classic CD will appeal to fans of
Kitaro,
Jeff Pearce,
Kevin Braheny,
Constance Demby, and
Mark Dwane. It is essential e-music.
