Original Hits, released by Castle Pulse in the U.K., is a decent but significantly flawed Shalamar anthology. It covers the group's first eight albums -- so there's nothing from Circumstantial Evidence or Wake Up, which is not a problem -- and it contains most of the significant singles (including "The Second Time Around," "Right in the Socket," "Make That Move," "Over and Over," and "Dancing in the Sheets"). However, it's missing the essential "A Night to Remember," which reached the U.S. R&B Top Ten and the Top Five of the U.K. pop chart, as well as "Sweeter as the Days Go By," "Full of Fire," and "Games." For a better single-disc overview, look for Ultimate Collection (Capitol, 2006).
